Paco's Sangria con Tequilaa Sangria stylized with a Tex-Mex flair by Kirk Deutrich, Speakeasy Club Member Ingredients: 2/3 c sugar 1/3 c water 1 bottle Fabbioli Cellars Paco Rojo Red Wine (750ml) 1 1/2 c OJ (fresh squeezed preferred, or at the least "not from concentrate") 1 c Fresh Lime Juice (number of limes needed will vary...6-12) 3/4 c Premium White Tequila (Suggest Patron Silver) 1/4 c Premium Orange Liqueur (Suggest Patron Cintronge) 1 c Grapefruit Soda 1 c Ginger Ale 1 lime (for slices) 1 orange (for slices) 1 lemon (for slices) 1 c Blackberries Directions: 1. Boil water and sugar until all sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. 2. Slice all fruit 3. Once sugar water is cooled add all ingredients together (except grapefruit soda/ginger ale) into a large pitcher (glass preferred), stir well and chill 4. Before serving, add grapefruit soda and ginger ale to pitcher and stir well 5. Add ice to large goblets and pour in mixture 6. Add in a few fruit slices and blackberries to each glass. 7. service and enjoy 8. repeat 4 & 5 until gone! Notes: Tequila - called me spoiled but I highly recommend premium white/silver. Patron Silver is favorite. Hussong's is great too! NO CUERVO! Premium Orange Liqueur - The best is Cointreau but it is pricey. Patron Citronge is less expensive. Triple Sec is the cheapest, but do not recommend. If you cannot find grapefruit soda, just use all ginger ale. The fruits are specific as they are Texas staples. You could add grapefruit too. You can also pull all the fruit out and serve in a bowl as appetizer...yum"My wife and I were fortunate enough to visit your place this past Saturday. We just wanted to let you know that this was our favorite tasting experience to date. We have visited all of the Loudoun County vineyards as well as several in other parts of the Commonwealth. Some of them have great views and beautiful buildings . I preferred your homey feel and the great wines that were offered for tasting. We enjoyed every wine that we tasted and the presentation was fantastic. It's really nice to do a tasting when the man pouring the wine is so passionate and knowledgeable. Thank you for a great experience. Now I know why Ed at One Block West speaks so highly of your wines." |
